My name is Jeremiah, I am the CEO of a bank. Two days ago a hacker managed to enter our system and took the personal data of our customers. I am thinking about reinforcing the security system but I do not know how.

Hello Jeremiah.

In the first time you need to reinforce the security by buying an rooter that allow you to make some rules to protect the access of your network. You can also make a local network who's called a DMZ "Demilitarized zone" Who prevent from exterior attack. You can also take mesures to prevent the access of the USB devices by the employees but for this you need a server to make "Local area network policies". You can also protect your computers by installing an anti-virus and anti malware, anti rootkit etc..

Can I install it myself or should I call a computer engineer?

You cant actually install it for yourself you need a reel IT engineer. You need to know well how a network is working and how to protect yourself.

Would it be expensive ?

Protection have a price. A little rooter cost aroud 200/300€ and if you need a server it cost at least 1450€ for a microsoft licence. You can use OpenSource software too but you need a linux expert to set up this kind of solution.
